Spring has definitely sprung in most of the USA. Grass is getting greener, daffodils are popping out of the ground, the weather is warmer, and days are getting longer. Apart from the Spring Break and March Madness, there are a couple more things we always associate with spring: spring greening and spring cleaning.
If you venture outdoors, you'll see the nature starting to put on its green coat again, and so should you. Green coat, green shirt, green dress, or green jewelry. Late last year, Pantone Color Forecasting Service announced its Color of the Year 2017 - Greenery. So, if you want to stay fashionable, you'd better put some green on. I wrote about this new trend back in January, and you can read the full post here. This time around, I'd like to give you some tips for staying fashionable if green is not quite your color. You don't have to dress in green head-to-toe (and resemble a leprechaun) to look fashionable. Simply, add some green accents to your wardrobe such as a scarf, a piece of jewelry, or a purse and you will look fashionable while staying true to yourself. Keep in mind that bright green doesn't combine too well with other bright colors. Opt for colors like rich browns, black, white, and neutrals to help your green accessories stand out.
Second thing that I always associate with spring is the spring cleaning. Not the most fun thing to do, I'll give you that, but it definitely has its purpose in life. Now, if you are wondering what spring cleaning has to do with fashion, here is your answer. First, it's a good rule of thumb to go through your wardrobe every spring and clear out the things you are no longer wearing. They might no longer be trendy or your clothing size might have changed. Instead of holding onto them and hoping you'd be able to wear them again someday, think about giving them to a local women's shelter, a charitable organization, or even selling them to a secondhand clothing store. Your "loss" will definitely be someone's gain. Second, you might even have fun with spring cleaning. How, you might ask. See, a lot of clothing and accessories companies have "spring cleaning sales" in order to get some of the older designs out the door and make room for the new ones. You can score some sweet fashion deals by checking out such sales.
In the spirit of greening and spring cleaning, hART Sense Design is also presenting you with a Spring Sale. Select designs in our online shop have been discounted by 20%. What is it that you are looking for when buying jewelry either for yourself or as a gift? Is it a certain brand name? The reputation of a big store you are purchasing the piece from? Does the price testify to the quality? The more expensive the better, right?
Have you ever thought what it is that draws you to purchase a certain piece of jewelry or that draws you to a particular store or a particular online retailer? I'd love it if you shared your thoughts with me in the comments below. But before we get there, I'd like to give you some food for thought. Check out the YouTube video below and let me know what you think. I'm all ears!
Do you prefer video advertising that tells a story or advertising (either print or video) that only shows the product? Why? I'd love it if you shared with me.

Those who have ever rescued an animal have probably been on the receiving end of a comment that goes something like this, "Oh, you are an angel!" In dog rescue circles specifically, the term "rescue angel" is used often for those who pull unwanted dogs from shelters, transport them to their foster or forever homes, and for those who foster and/or adopt such animals. It is not uncommon to also hear those pooches referred to as "rescued angels," especially if their behavior in their new homes warrants such characterization, and for many of them it does. Somehow, in some way, those rescues know they are in the clear, they are safe, loved and taken care of, and many of them show their "appreciation" by wanting to please their new humans the best they can.
As you may or may not know, all of the studio security staff here at hART Sense Design, both past and present, have been rescues of one kind or another. Our late, great studio security manager, Gage the English Setter, came to us through Above & Beyond English Setter Rescue, and that is why we try to support their efforts through our business. This year again, we are teaming up with A&B to help other setters in need through our new (ad)venture, the Smiling Setter Shop. To learn more, check out the nifty little video below.
Of course, the shop is named for our current studio security manager trainee, Dottie the Irish Setter.
...And, talking about the Irish, today happens to be St.Patrick's Day, and that's where the saints come (marching) in. In honor of this day and to show our love for the Irish, all green jewelry in our shop has been discounted by 20% all through the end of the month. Prices are already marked down - no coupon needed. So, go ahead, save some green for wearin' o' the green!
Have a very Happy St.Paddy's whether you are Irish or not!
