Those who are somewhat familiar with the Black Hills of South Dakota know that visiting here during the traditional May-through-September season offers plenty of sightseeing opportunities and activities for the whole family. Fewer people know that even in the post-New Year lull there is quite a lot going on. For the artistic types, there are art exhibitions, theater, and music performances to attend. However, apart from the locals and ranchers, very few people are aware of an annual even happening at the end of January and extending through the first week of February that started all the way back in 1959.
Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo is quite an attraction with its horse sale, livestock events, rodeo, concerts, and a big western marketplace. This year, it will take place between January 27th and February 5th and include such events as Diamond Rio concert, ranch bronc rides, SDQHA 2-day horse sale, ranch rodeo, quick draw art competition, PRCA Xtreme Bulls competition, Miss Black Hills Stock Show Queen contest, auctions, Stockman's Banquet & Ball, and many more. In a nutshell, it will be the most good, old-fashioned, western fun one can have in the Black Hills this time of year. Of course, weather permitting, one can conceivably steal away for a day of skiing, snowshoeing, or hiking in the Hills while visiting the Stock Show or for some fun time in the indoor water park.
We at hART Sense Design couldn't pass up on the opportunity to offer some sweet deals to the Stock Show attendees. For the duration of the Show, whether you are in town or following the events through the BH Stock Show website, you will be able to receive an exclusive 25% discount in our online shop and free personal delivery of your purchases to either your hotel (as long as it is within city limits) or to the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Shipping your purchases directly to your home address is also an option to save you from dealing from extra baggage on your way back home. So, come one, come all and enjoy the western fun in the Black Hills! We've got your jewelry shopping needs covered.
In other news, just in time for Black Hills Stock Show and for Valentine's Day as well, we will have a limited number of our designs on consignment at a new gallery space. Thanks to the Community Artist program at Suzie Cappa Art Center & Gallery, our jewelry will be supporting the worthy cause of providing for artists with disabilities. Consignment fees retained by Suzie Cappa Gallery help advance the work of artists with disabilities within the community, provide daily access to free studio and gallery space, support numerous events and exhibitions geared toward promoting local artists with disabilities and so much more. We are proud to be a part of this wonderful cause this year. Come see our designs displayed after January 27th and shop the works of many artists served, as well as ours and those of others from the local community!
