Last week, I talked in my blog post about some springtime things. With this week's post, it definitely looks like we at hART Sense Design are putting our cart before the horse... er, our spring before winter.
Many times customers ask me how I know which color will be popular in the coming season when I design jewelry. Well, I don't know but there is someone who does. Fashion industry has long relied on forecasts by different trend forecasting services to determine color palettes, styles, and shapes that would make hot trends for the upcoming seasons. When it comes to color, the trend forecasting service for fashion industry is Pantone. The company has been in the business of color intelligence for many, many years and their color forecasts are the baseline for clothing, shoes, and accessories that make it to the runways and stores each season.
As fashion industry needs time to produce all those wonderful items, color intelligence reports are released a couple of seasons in advance, e.g. in the fall for the following spring. During New York Fashion Week in mid-September, Pantone released their new color palette for the Spring 2016. So, without further ado, I present to you the 2016 spring color palette!
What do you think? Bright? Flirty? Girly?
Now, how do we apply all these wonderful colors to the cowgirl chic, western style jewelry? Most likely, not all of them will be used, but only those that suit the spirit of western wear. My prediction is that we will be seeing a lot of Pantone Limpet Shell, Serenity, Snorkel Blue, Fiesta, and Iced Coffee with some Rose Quartz accents in western wear and western style jewelry next spring. Of course, trusty turquoise and coral will never go out of style, but look forward to seeing some more leather, silver, and true rose quartz (the gemstone) in the new western style jewelry designs. As for hART Sense Design, we will be releasing a few new designs inspired by these colors before Thanksgiving. Sign up here to receive updates.
