End of restrictions on international travel to facilitate the transit of buyers at the IHGF-Delhi show
New Delhi, March 25 (KNN) The Indian government’s decision to lift restrictions on international travel from March 27 is expected to ease the transit of buyers at the Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (IHGF-Delhi).
The 53rd edition of IHGF-Delhi is organized by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) from March 30 to April 3 at India Expo Center & Mart, Greater Noida.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Managing Director of EPCH, welcomed the Indian government’s proposal to lift restrictions on international travel, which will lead to increased participation from international buyers.
Kumar announced that theme pavilions depicting handicrafts from the North East region, Rajasthan, Ladakh, J&K and Bihar will be among the attractions for the visiting foreign buyer community.
He talked about the first post-pandemic physical show – the 52nd IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn 2021 which contributed to exports estimated at Rs 29,626.96 crore (for eleven months (April-February) of 2021-22, which is significantly higher than exports during April-March 2020-21 which stood at Rs 25,679.98 crore.
The five-day fair brings home, lifestyle, fashion, textiles and furniture products by more than 2,500 handicraft exporters from across the country, informed Raj Kumar Malhotra, President of EPCH.
The exhibition will have an emphatic representation of handcrafted hubs and clusters, in the halls of the India Exhibition Center and in 900 permanent exhibition halls in the Mart area, to make it a comprehensive sourcing destination .
The EPCH has established guidelines for exhibitors, buyers and visitors to follow at the show site, including thermal scanning at the entrance, color badge entry, mandatory face masks and other protocols. related to covid-19.
Overseas buyers from over 90 countries have pre-registered to visit the show, and several corporate/department store buyers have already confirmed their visit to the show.
The show will also welcome visitors from major Indian retail/online brands including Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance Brands Limited, Fab India, Praxis Home Retail Limited, etc. (KNN Office)
