Cowichan commuter bus adds another round trip to Victoria

Construction of Malahat saw a reduction in BC Transit commuter service to Cowichan

With construction on the Malahat following the flooding, there are still only three round trips by bus available for BC Transit commuters to and from the Cowichan Valley area, two from Duncan and one from Shawnigan Lake.

The Duncan Line 66 commuter buses now leave Village Green Mall at 5:32 and 6:10 a.m., and will begin the return trip from Government and Superior to Victoria at 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

The Shawnigan Lake 99 commuter bus will continue with one round trip each day of the week. The bus will leave Cobble Hill Station at 6:45 a.m. and begin the return trip from Government and Superior at 4:40 p.m.

“All other scheduled travel times for these routes have been canceled, and the above travel times will remain in place until further notice,” said the press release issued by BC Transit spokesperson Lenore. Kennedy. “Customers may experience delays and longer travel times than expected, due to the nature of travel and construction underway on the Malahat. “

As construction continues, the situation is changing and customers are encouraged to search online for the most recent information. Cowichan Valley Bus timetables and updates are available at: https://www.bctransit.com/cowichan-valley/schedules-and-maps/alerts
