Now Electronic Pass System For Sale Of Timber In Nagpur Circle | Nagpur News

NAGPUR: In a first, the Maharashtra Forestry Department will launch an electronic pass system (e-TP) for the sale of timber. The pilot project, which has received government authorization, will be implemented in Nagpur Cercle comprising the forestry divisions of Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara and Gondia.
Currently, each state has a different set of rules on the TP but now States will need to log into the new online National Transit Pass (NTPS) system launched by Union Forestry Minister Prakash Javadekar in July for timber, bamboo and other forest products. The pilot project is made operational in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.
In this system, an applicant must register and then apply for a transit pass. The request will be transferred to the relevant rangeland forestry office. After following the state-specific verification procedure, a transit pass will be issued. The requester will receive a transmission message and the ticket can be downloaded and viewed.
“Nagpur Circle will be the first to implement the system in Maharashtra. We are ready with the system which has several features. We had almost got the dates from Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to launch it, but now that the model code of conduct has entered into force for constituency polls for graduates and teachers, the opening will be postponed, ”said MK Rao. , PCCF (Information Technology and Policy).
Rao said, “We are ahead of e-governance and most of our end offices have internet. This will facilitate business and speed up the issuance of transit permits for timber without physically going to the forestry offices. This system helps to monitor and maintain records of transit permits for interstate and intrastate timber transport.
Nagpur CCF P Kalyan Kumar said, “Our preparatory work has already started and a webinar was held for field staff a few days ago to explain the software. Capacity building of staff for the implementation of the e-TP will be carried out shortly. Soon e-TP will be released through the desktop based web portal as well as a mobile app. ”
